About the Widecombe Study & Research Group
The Widecombe Study and Research Group (WSRG) is a group of Widecombe residents who are interested in pursuing studies and research into diverse subjects relating to Widecombe Parish including, but not limited to, history, archaeology, environment, agriculture, climate change, geology, natural history and village and rural life. The overall aim is to facilitate such studies and to ensure that the results are recorded for the future.
WSRG publishes articles detailing the results of its work, usually on this website, but will also publish books and other printed material where appropriate. It may organise talks and exhibitions from time to time and hold informal meetings to exchange ideas and discuss proposals.
WSRG also encourages and supports the efforts of others in the community and elsewhere who have their own areas of Widecombe related interest, and also provides a vehicle for them to make their work available for more general consumption should they wish.
